Advancing the Voice of Community Development Banks

CDBA serves as the leading national advocate for community development banks, ensuring that the voices of mission-driven financial institutions are heard at the highest levels of government. Our advocacy is grounded in the real-world experiences of our members—banks that deliver responsible, relationship-based financial services in underserved urban and rural communities across the country.

Through formal correspondence, regulatory comment letters, public testimony, coalition leadership, and direct engagement with federal agencies and Congressional offices, CDBA actively shapes the policies that affect our sector. We work to advance legislation, advise regulatory frameworks, and secure resources that enable our members to grow their impact.

Our advocacy spans both legislative and regulatory arenas and is focused on ensuring that community development banks have the tools, capital, and flexibility they need to succeed. Below are highlights of our current and ongoing policy priorities, as well as examples of past efforts that have helped strengthen the foundation of the community development banking sector.
