Alan Hargett
Alan is a seasoned banking professional who has worked his entire career for Planters Bank in Indianola, Mississippi. He joined the bank as a management trainee after graduating in 1989 from Mississippi State University with a degree in business administration.
Alan eventually became a commercial lender and was later appointed president of the bank's office in Ruleville. In 2007, he was named the bank’s first chief credit officer and was responsible for implementing a centralized credit team; in 2018, he was named president and chief operating officer, before becoming president and chief executive officer a year later. He has been a board member of the bank and Planters Holding Co. since 2014.
He is actively involved in several community organizations. He serves as treasurer of the Delta State University Foundation Committee and is a board member of the Mississippi Economic Council and the Delta Council Organization. He has served on the Mississippi Bankers Association executive committee and on the American Bankers Association's Agricultural and Rural Bankers Committee. He is a member of the Indianola Rotary Club and a deacon of First Baptist Church of Indianola.
Alan has also completed several advanced banking programs, including the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University.
